Killian Bushe Yacht Constructions

Killian Bushe has been building Advanced Composite Race Boats for over thirty years, having started his career building cold molded wooden yachts under the tutelage of his father George in Cork during the early seventies.

He has been at the forefront of composite boatbuilding technology since the early eighties and has produced many high quality lightweight-racing yachts ranging in size from 40 to 85 feet. Among many successful projects is the Volvo 60 illbruck, which was built in Leverkusen Germany and went on to win the 2001/2002 Volvo Ocean Race.

More recent projects include the construction of Team ABN AMRO’s two Volvo 70s ABN AMRO 1 and ABN AMRO 2, which were built in Lelystad (NL), finishing first and fourth in the 2005/2006 Volvo Ocean Race

Currently under construction is the new version 5 Americas Cup Yacht for Victory Challenge (SWE), which is being built in Gothenburg and is expected to be completed by Christmas 2006
