Killian Bushe
has been building Advanced Composite Race Boats for over thirty years,
having started his career building cold molded wooden yachts under the
tutelage of his father George in Cork during the early seventies.
He has been at the forefront of composite boatbuilding technology since
the early eighties and has produced many high quality lightweight-racing
yachts ranging in size from 40 to 85 feet. Among many successful projects
is the Volvo 60 illbruck, which was built in Leverkusen Germany and went
on to win the 2001/2002 Volvo Ocean Race.
More recent projects
include the construction of Team ABN AMRO’s two Volvo 70s ABN AMRO
1 and ABN AMRO 2, which were built in Lelystad (NL), finishing first and
fourth in the 2005/2006 Volvo Ocean Race
Currently under construction is the new version 5 Americas Cup Yacht for
Victory Challenge (SWE), which is being built in Gothenburg and is expected
to be completed by Christmas 2006
